I just came across a post on “A Soldier’s Perspective” discussing a rather disgusting and disturbing trend that has guys posing as soldiers on Internet dating sites. Here’s the quote from CJ’s:
The latest trend involves trolling internet dating sites and convincing women that they are honorable Soldiers who have fallen in love and would do anything to communicate with the object of their affection. But, because they are deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq, they need you to sign up for an expensive telecommunications service like “Military TELEX” in order to make that happen. They profess unending love as their motivator and, unfortunately, many women have fallen for it.
The BIG red flag here is that the guy is asking for money. NEVER fall for that con.
If you come across anyone on a dating site who is asking you for money, regardless of the reason; block them immediately from further contact and then report them to the internet dating service.
You can also check out who is really behind their email address…
AND / or their telephone number…
To read specific details about about one incident, read CJ’s post “The New Military Dating Scam”.

james hannett57@yahoo.com has been elininated and all I lost was time. thanks 101date. it was hard for him to stop IM me on yahoo, He tried his best to convince me. I never would have given him any money he is not related a dependant and under 18.That is one thing I have never done with anyone! Be safe ladies!
Any person in the world can post any picture on the web and post any name up they want. You can put up a dog and say its name is “Lassie” if you want, and say this is the latest picture of yourself taken. Unfortunately, you never really know who is behind that screen. I also have had three fake cam video’s presented to me on Yahoo Messenger. Yes I said fake video’s…..It took me a while to figure out how they do it, but I eventually did come across the info that explained how it is done. You can be chatting with more than one person also ,claiming to be your darling . This method is used extensibly by the ones who are in the scamming syndicate. I just was on Spokeo before typing this, running my first scammers email. This blog lists his email on 80 different networks. Imagine !! I also ran taylorhenry42, and he also is listed on 80 different networks. This is all you get for free there, as you must pay to find out the exact names of the networks they are listed on. I suspected walter and taylor were one and the same, due to similarities between the two, and i still suspect this could be the case. However I also suspect walter has used many other names ( at least 12) to try and scam me more. I have learned so much, and have so many stories, I could go on and on. I am in the process of writing a book on all the material and hope to get it published.
This is so weird but I haven’t felt so naive about any man on any dating site, not just Badoo either and I wish I was more sure of the guys on all of the dating websites… from http://www.militarycupid.com, http://www.armydating.com and so on and so forth. π
When profile’s of these scammers on dating sites are gone or deleted off, it is for two reasons usually. One, they have picked up enough people to work, (scam), or they move on to other sites and work them. Second, whenever a dating site receives complaints of scamming, they will remove the profile. I always report a scammer to the dating site representative. It’s the first thing I do. I go to this site next, and then onto scamwarners and any other sites on the internet you can report to. Facebook is one that does resist deleting , however with enough complaints they will comply.
I just got a lovely email from Jackson but I don’t wanna use the word he said, π
blank you and I replied back with wow honey, that wasn’t at all neccessary now was it…
love always,
your army girlfriend
Angela
Susan: Close to the end of July I googled if I had to pay some fund money for him to be brought to my door step and it said If an Army soldier asks you to pay money and the weird thing he didn’t tell me how much?! I also didn’t ask him how much either. π
Then when we started to chat again on yahoo messenger he said honey where are you I am on here waiting to talk to you sweetie. then I wasn’t even on my computer at all for 5 whole days and nights when they all in his Unit was on a long term mission and I then only went back on and went to google and I put in can an Army girlfriend request for her soldier to come home for a year of leave and then when we chatted again on yahoo messenger I said to him what if its a scam and then his responce back to me was never talk to me again and he signed out. π
To Margaret Rodgers: I went back to Badoo back in June and his Jackson’s profile was deleted and then I was still on Badoo for another week in the same month that his was deleted. Then before July I deleted mine and never went back until today the 1st of August and nothing since then.
ArmysgtsgirlfriendisAngela PLEASE give this man nothing as he will ask for money
I’ve had three of scammers now ,my mate has had two herself ,she told him she married and he talks about them getting old together PLEASE LISTEN TO WAT PPL WRITE
Angela : I am not at the present time signed up on Badoo or any dating site. I come and go on them, picking them out, and exposing them. I have studied scammers now for two years. My story is a long one. I once was as naive as you are . I was financially ruined, which I am still trying to recover from ( a loss of $6000) and was devastated emotionally by one who claimed to be a soldier. After this the only thing I could think of was to learn as much as I could about them, their tactics, and how they operate. My aim was to try and warn and help others from this happening to them. Indeed I did. Staying up all night searching and reading on the internet. Finding them by the fistful on dating and social sites.
I have NEVER met one who claimed to be a soldier that was NOT a scammer. Not one and I have met hundreds. Please take my advice seriously, I know what I am talking about. You want to avoid a empty wallet and heartbreak ? then delete and block. I wish you the best.
To: Margaret Rodgers When did you see him on Badoo? If so what was his name on the site. Let me know when you go back on there please. π
TO ARMYSGTSGIRLFRIENDISANGELA: This Philips is a scammer. This withdrawal is a tactic they use to gain control of your emotions, making you miss them, so that your so happy and relieved when they do come back on your all theirs emotionally causing you to fail to fully see the “red flags”. You need to do some serious reading of the many posts on here and perhaps seek some professional advice. There are many sites on the Internet regarding scammers.
Ladies, ALL of these guys ARE scammers!!!!! PLEASE get it into your heads!! and stop worrying that they are killed in action!! No such thing!!!! They are just out to play with your feelings and try to con you…… read up on the stories over here!! Jeez!!!! How many times do we have to keep repeating??? The stories are ALL the same: wife died, kid is somewhere with a nanny, they can’t get home, unless YOU pay, the bankcaught fire, they were in an accident… come on!!!!! Read the stories and open your eyes!!!!!
To Melinda Law: We have absolutely no Military in Nigeria. Undercover do not disclose this. Outsiders do not request Leave for our Military. They earn leave and then request it themselves. There is no fee for leave or retirement. The Military also pays to send them home. Ask for .mil email address. You won’t get one. Absolute scammer.
To Cheryl : This is 99 percent chance a scammer. He will ask for some sort of financial means if given the chance. Ask him for his .mil email address. I would bet you won’t get one. Our Military is no longer in Iraq to my understanding.
TSG is not an Army rank.
his guy Jame Hannett has an email Jhandy@ Yahoo.com , has a daughter mendy who is with a nanny who took care of his sick wife dying of cancer, His daughter live with nanny in Ghanna. any one know him. claims to be a TSG in U.S army. I am not in a relationship with him but he has contacted me.
Anyone heard of a Jame Hannett, tsg US army. Hasn’t ask for money. says he is in Iraq and comming home in Sept. I am very careful about who I let in my circle. He said he was from MD, Has a daugher named Mendy and wife died of breast cance, Has anyone ran into in?
I was recently contacted on the 40 and over singles site by a guy named Frank White, using screen name fwhyte20 or fwhyte45. Both have been deleted but as of yesterday he’s posted as fwhytle. Total scam. I am heartbroken, embarrassed, but not out of money, thankfully. just wanted you all to know. beware
To All : Uses first name of Albert, and emails of walterlarry42@yahoo.com, and taylorhenry384. A scammer.
I haven’t heard from Sergeant Jackson Philips in three weeks on yahoo messenger, and I’m beginning to get scared that he is either cheating on me or worse got killed in action. π I hate to think negative on both of these and missing each other so much.
I’m unable to sleep peacefully at night and If I do then I’ll have a bad dream and stuff will happen to me while i am asleep.
Hi Paula
Regarding the Name Edwards, I have just come of a dating site speaking to someone who calls himself Brian. He was servicing in Afghanistan and same old story. he was single, wife was dead had not dated for seven years. he was due to leave the army soon after one last mission, and was looking for the love of his life to spend the rest of his life with when he came home. Anyway same old stories that all the others talk about, except he had completed his mission and wanted to come home to me asap to start a life together. He said that he wanted me to arrange for some excess luggage to come home and that he was only allowed a certain weight. He gave me a freight firm, on trying to contact this firm I could not get through to any of the emails. Then hay presto a different company contacts me. I couldn’t find this company on the internet. The letter was very badly written. Alarms bells started ringing when they wanted Β£2,400 for collection. Cue investigation I think they maybe looking at a different way of conning people. I have asked the so called freight firm to identify their Firm Guess what No reply. People be aware of a different angle. these people will stoop to any level.
I was approached via FB by jblaylock59, he supposedly a undercover in U.N.stationed in Sudan, then transfered to Nigeria, he is widowed, wife and child killed in car crash , looking to start relationship, a new family new life, he gives you a phone number to a hotel he is staying in, even though he is in a camp..he says he loves you after 2nd conversation, wants to come home marry u, needs you to send commanding officer an email requesting leave.. The responding email from the commanding officer was so horrible, spelling, grammar the entire thing you would have to be a complete fool to think this was legit,, then he starts with need to send him 750.00 to admin for air fare, and release.. he continues to confess his undying love even when you tell him not sending money,, he doesnt give up easily,,he is still on FB and yahoo messenger, also as jonathonjames324..Hes pretty good at it, just not smart, there were so many ways to verify what he was saying, none of it checked out..he plays on ur feelings
To Nathalie : The Military pays for their men and women to go home. They do not need outsiders to pay for this. Read other posts on here from Sgt Robert McLaughlin. He explains all this on this site.
To Paula : There is a scammer who uses Preston in his name. He changes it around a lot. He has been posted on here for over a year now. Avoid any using Preston in his name. Scammer big time. I have dealt with him also. He’s been on Facebook, and Shytle.
To Armysgtsgirlfriendis Angela: I found most on Badoo to be scammers. Yours is too.
