I just came across a post on “A Soldier’s Perspective” discussing a rather disgusting and disturbing trend that has guys posing as soldiers on Internet dating sites. Here’s the quote from CJ’s:
The latest trend involves trolling internet dating sites and convincing women that they are honorable Soldiers who have fallen in love and would do anything to communicate with the object of their affection. But, because they are deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq, they need you to sign up for an expensive telecommunications service like “Military TELEX” in order to make that happen. They profess unending love as their motivator and, unfortunately, many women have fallen for it.
The BIG red flag here is that the guy is asking for money. NEVER fall for that con.
If you come across anyone on a dating site who is asking you for money, regardless of the reason; block them immediately from further contact and then report them to the internet dating service.
You can also check out who is really behind their email address…

and there is another thing i want to point out; ladies….get over it!!! I was scammed about 1 1/2 year ago, and lost some money because i was too naive, and not listening to my own alarmbells, and the socalled soldier was playing with my heart. But i made his life miserable too, promised him money, i let him go to WU with fake numbers and i did that for 10 months, i played him big time, but i got tired playing this game and i bloked him and send all the info i collected about this scammer to interpol, i told my story on this site, and closed the book. Get on with your life and learn from the story’s the woman wrote on this site. Don’t EVER fall for a guy who asks you for money, and….. look around, life is great!!!!

No offcourse NOT. A man is only a REAL man if he treats a woman with respect, and it doesn’t matter if he is a soldier or not, he needs to be honest and not ripping woman for money.

They get spit on, the lose their jobs and their families, but they go on. Because it is what they do.
We do go for normal guys but Jack online these scammers pose as them as well. Women would love to find a nice decent caring kind romantic man it is so hard not that easy internet dating is full of scammers and even guys get scammed i have a friend both women he has picked have been scammers so you see its not easy

The profiles don’t get shutdown that is the problem I shut 160 on military Cupid dating sites I went on as bait. I have been doing this since last September the dating sites don’t care about identity fraud as far as military photos being used. The woman who get scammed they don’t care either woman have lost thousands. Soldiers good names have been ruined with the identity fraud. Nigeria and Ghana are to blame they are stealing soldiers identities and commiting fraud. Without people like me shutting down more would get hurt.

Simply ask for his .mil email address, that will shut the fakes down very fast.
Regarding this Robert Gray – I found he has two separate facebook accounts. One has 3 women on it as friends and the other one has different people on it as his friends but he has the same picture posted up on each one.
On dating sites you might find one that is real , the rest have stolen soldiers picture and behind this picture is a Nigerian or ghanan benind it. I have been shutting profiles down for months I can spot a fake a mile off. I run a group on Facebook for support for women who have been scammed. Also if you want to communicate with a real American soldier look up the website adopt a soldier it’s a proper run organisation you register then within a week you are given your soldiers details you can write or email and send parcels if you want too. I live in London and have two both lovely and they appreciate the friendship.
I was shocked when I learned about the reality of internet dating scam involving US Army men. I am actually chatting with Chris Daniels. How can I check his background in the US Army. He said he resigned.
We have to be careful. Please help me check his background because he is about to go to the Philippines, if he is real then there is no problem but if he is fake soldier I have to be careful.
the pictures used for sgt Rob Gray are the same as used for Marcus Coleman. The last was my scammer and has admitt few days ago he was fake ….anyway I send jeannet few weeks ago already a mail with the proof that the emailadress of Rob Gray was known as from a criminal african scammer. As it is probably the same who scammed me its not very carefull to keep him on the messengerlist because sooner or later he’ll come with a new story and continues the game. A warned man is worth 10 😉 . Allthough i can assure that this Coleman or Gray on the moment I confronted him with the truth, immediatly deleted these profiles on facebook and he accepted to show me his face….no innocent someone, certainly professional.
@ Louise Watson…there were surely not different scammers, its all one who plays a scene to you pay more and more. I was explained the game and few ways they follow…i must say that they are very creative in inventive….i guess it became a national item after more then 20 years of experience. i have been a victim of on line dating, a us soldier deployed in nigeria who could not access his accounts due to security reasons, his emails were full of love, he was very romantic, and tugged at my heart strings because be was an only child and has lost both of his parents to an accident. i too have lost 2 brothers and his loss opened wounds. i felt so badly for him, i have a close realtionship with my parents and i know life comes with death. he was quick to inform me that he could get a r.&r. leave if i was to apply for it. but here is the kicker i was to send 850.00 us so the paper work can be completed for him to leave the base he was stationed at. he did not have access to his accounts due to the high security reasons , i sent this money to his commanding officer to complete the paper work so he could come to canada for a visit. once more i will remind you this man or maybe a woman had capivated my interest with many romantic mails and he has money from his parents that allows us to by a home and live with out any $ stress. the name he went by is st. kenneth thomas he proposed to me via the mail and promised me the world. THIS WAS A TOTAL SCAM AND WHEN I WROTE HIS COAMMANDER TELLING HIM I BELIVED THIS TO BE A SCAM HE DEMMANDED AN APOLOGY, I INSULTED HIS INTEGRITY!!! THE DAY HE WAS TO ARRIVE HERE I GOT A EMAIL FROM A HOSPITAL AND A DR WHO I HAVE GOOGLED AND NEITHER ARE TO BE FOUND SAYING ON THE WAY TO THE AIRPORT THERE WAS A AWFUL ACCIDENT AND ONE KENNETH THOMAS WAS INVOLVED, HE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL SUFFERING IN A COMMA. HE INFORMED ME THAT 5 PEOPLE HAVE DIED IN THIS ACCIDENT AND THERE WERE ONLY 3 SURVIVERS I MUST COME IMMEDIATLEY BECAUSE KENNETH HAS LISTED ME AS HIS WIFE. Gray is a scammer he tried to con me but i knew his picture with his son was a fake..He is not the soldier in the picture..there are many of this same soldiers pix on many,many sites but its not him..If you wish you can send me the pix to verify..The real soldier is no doubt gone home by now.or in Afghan..Ask him to always write via his .mil address..
hello michele you mentioned the name robert gray , well i have a sgt gray on my msn but am pretty sure its a scammer . his display pic on msn he has a young boy with him and hise email is sgtrob40@hotmail.com . and there is a way you could found out if these name are good or not , you just have to go on face book and put on us army and the name you have of the person and it will give you the information you need . cuz its the way i found the real soldier i was looking for cuz i was scamm about 3 months ago . they all tell the same story and and after they fall in love with u so easy and then they ask for money for there leave to come to you . are you a canadian woman ? cuz i cant beleive this these scammer they attack us canadian am from canada . and to tell you the truth about 2 weeks ago i meant a real canadian soldier in my home town and i ask some question and he told me they dont need money for there leave and you dont have to sign any documents for there leave . believe me i maid the biggest mistake to sign cuz i found out it was fake … but thank god i found out that am not the only woman who was scamm …. if you want to you can join a group on face book its called united states military datin scams and there is another one its call scamhunters . its a support group for woman like us who has been scamm . for me it maid a big diffrence cuz it help me alot while am still getting over this scamm ….. hope this will help you take care

I went to the 2nd entry which says “The forgotten C co 3 – just below the video pic it reads “more videos for Sgt. Chris Beasley scammer – click onto that line – brings up about all you want on Sgt. Chris Beasley, the real one. Sorry you have a scammer using his name.
